Flaunt It Friday's Challenge #24

I love doing square cards and I recently got some 5 X 5 square envelopes so I've been making a lot of them lately. As long as the envelope is 5 X 5 I believe it can go in the mail but may require more postage.

They requested you use the Pooh Font Cricut Cartridge if you have it, the Tigger with the duck on page 61. Well, I didn't have that cartridge so I used the Disney Pooh and Friends Cricut Cartridge and decided to add my duck in a completely different way.  I'd say I took a little artistic license on this one. LOL I hope you all like it as much as I do.

Stampin Up - Very Vanilla - Card Base 4.25 X 6.0 folded in half.

Tigger and all his layers were cut at 3 inches and were cut out of -

Joann's - Bazzil - Blackberry Swirl and Guava Sensation

Papertrey Ink - Orange Zest and Lemon Tart

Stampin Up - Rose Red

Wal-Mart - pink glitter glue - nose

The stripe across the bottom was cut at 1 X 4.25 inches.

The sentiment is computer generated and then trimmed to 1 X 2.5 inches.

Paisley Cricut Cartridge - Pink Zebra

This is a super simple and fun card to make. I use the Paisley Cartridge a lot more than I ever thought that I would and this is one of my favorite cuts on that cartridge. I found the pink zebra ribbon the other day while I was out shopping and just new that it had to go on a card. I love zebra print.

Let me tell you what I used and hopefully you'll be inspired to make a super simple fun card too.

Great New Products At Custom Crops

Hey everyone, I wanted to let you all know about an email I received from Custom Crops this morning. It showed all of their new products.

We'll two days ago a bunch of us crafters were going crazy looking for Darice Embossing Folders. I knew Custom Crops had some, because I had purchased some from them in the past. Well, they didn't seem to have any that I already didn't have. So I called my Mom in West Virginia and she went to her crafts 2000 to try to get me some. Well, they weren't on sale anymore, but you know how Mom's can be - she got me some anyways. She paid $4.49 for each one. So today I go to the Custom Crops website and wouldn't you know it, they have new Darice Embossing folders for even less than what my mom already paid for them. I already have 6 of the folders that I had gotten from Custom Crops and they work great! I have been using them like crazy. They are every bit as good as cuttlebug or sizzix brand. If you check out some of my other post, you'll see that I mention custom crops and how much I love their products and prices. I have no connection with this company other than I'm a loyal happy customer who enjoys getting a good price on her craft supplies. Graduation Pillow Boxes

I am so excited and proud of my two upcoming graduates this June. They will be the

Suwannee High School Class of 2011

Suwannee Bulldogs.

These are the pillow boxes and the candy that we got for their graduation party. There will be a pillow box at every place setting. We live in a small town and there is a lot of school spirit here, so I think everyone will love these. Each box is a little different and will be filled with dog bone shaped candy. I couldn't help myself though, I had to put "WOOF" on each one. We are the "Wolfe" family and the boxes all say "WOOF". LOL

Hopefully I'm as funny as I think I am and everyone gets that. Everything will be decorated in green and yellow and I'm making charms to tie around the plastic-ware that will also be at each setting. When I get them done, I will post a picture of them also.

I'm not sure if it's just that I'm so excited or if it's because I love doing crafts but I am enjoying doing all of this so much. My plan is to have the charms done by the end of the week and then start wrapping the plastic-ware and put them all in large ziploc bags, so they are ready. Then I'm gonna call and order the cakes on Monday and I've already got all the table clothes, plates, cups and napkins stored in my room. I want this to be such a special day for both of them.

Jesse is allowed to stay in high school through age 21 because of his down syndrome and he is very happy about that. He has the greatest teacher any parent could ever ask for. Danée will be doing her basic courses here at the local community college. Which she has already been doing for 2 years. That's just another reason I'm proud of her. She is graduating with honors and going to college at the same time. I know I may be a smidge biased but I think she's a pretty awesome young woman.

I will be sure to post pictures after we decorate for the party and of the other decorations I make.

The pillow box die and the red sticky tape for sealing the boxes closed is from Stampin Up.

The stamps are from Recollections and are called, Woof Woof.

The green ink is from Martha Stewart and the black ink is Staz On.

The green and yellow paper is from staples. I was able to get those colors in packs of 250 sheets. Super Good Deal!

Graduation Party Announcement

I have two wonderful kids graduating from Suwannee High School this year and this is the invitation I made for the party. I used a sizzix bigz die that I purchased from www.sizzix.com . We ordered special sealing wax (in green and yellow) from a great seller on ebay to close all the envelopes and a paw print to put into the seal. (If you're interested in getting this wax, please let me know and I'll get you the ebay sellers info.) The mascot for the high school is a bulldog and is the reason for the paw prints.

I ordered the paper for the invitations and the other things I'm making from Staples. I needed to know that I had enough paper for all the things I was making, including these 100 invitations. Staples has 65 pound paper and it worked great for all the things that I needed to do. Plus I could purchase them in packs of 250 sheets - that was a big plus in this situation.

Staples has several colors of card stock, for a real good price. This is the same weight as the paper you can get from Wal-Mart and Colorbok. I was real happy with the weight and quality of this paper. I will show more things I'm making for the party later on in the next few weeks. I'm finishing the pillow boxes, the shrinky dinks and the paw prints (cut from my cricut) over the next week or two.

Disney Princess - Cinderella Card

This card was for my little niece. She loves all of the Disney Princesses.

This is an A2 size card, cut from the Happily Ever After Cricut Cartridge cut at 3.5 inches.

All the papers for this project were done with Colorbok Paper from Wal-Mart.

The 2nd layer was embossed with the Cuttlebug Pumpkin Harvest Embossing Folder.

The minute I saw that folder, I knew I was going to use it for a Cinderella card.

It took me a while to find it, but it was well worth the wait.

I loved the look it gave this project, plus I know that it'll be great for fall cards as well.

The pearls are from Stampin-Up. I used them to make her necklace, crown and earrings. I liked the way it looked and thought it added something that just putting down the paper pieces didn't give it. I used stampin up chalk to chalk her cheeks. 

I would suggest when you are using the Disney Cartridges that you make them as big as you can

because they have a lot of small pieces.

Fruit Card for Mary's Cards TV Challenge

This was a super simple card and I really enjoyed making it.

It's an A2 size card, cut from pink card stock.

Then I added the red and pink polka dot paper cut at 3.75 X 5.

Then added the strawberry mat cut at 3.25 X 4.5

Then the strawberry was cut a 3.5 inches and all it's layers.

It was cut from the Hello Kitty Cricut Cartridge.

All the card stock for this project came from Colorbok. I love their paper and it cuts great on the cricut.

I purchased all the paper and the ribbon from Wal-Mart.

I added the dots and faux stitching with my signo gel pen.

My Pink Stamper National Scrapbook Challenge 8 & 10

Nickname - Uber Frog

My daughter is a major frog fan and if you have read any of my frog post, you'll know that she is always my inspiration for my frog cards. I was trying to come up with a pet card and a summer card and she said mom, "You have to do a frog for your pet card." So I did.

I welded the frog and the Live Simply saying from the Live Simply Cricut Cartridge and made a shaped card that will fit in a standard A2 size envelope. I made an additional bottom layer for the frog and glued the pieces together and ran it through the embossing folder. My daughter helped a lot with this card. She helped pick out the colors we used and of course said it needed google eyes. Then she decided it was funnier if it had 2 different size eyes. I thought it just made the frog look drunk. I told her that we needed to think of something simple for summer. Because that's what I think of when I think of summer time. Kicking back and making things easy. So that's how we came up with the live simply part.

I want to be able to win it and GIVE it to my wonderful daughter-in-law so badly. She is a teacher at a  pre-school and doesn't own any kind of cricut. I know that she could put it to good use. Some people may think that this is a silly thing to pray about but God wants us to have the desires of our hearts. My heart desires to be able to give this to her. Card Challenge Post

This was a fun card to make and it will be entered into 3 different challenges. The first challenge is for Paper Playtime, make a long card challenge. The last 2 challenges are for the Pink Stamper National Scrapbook Challenge. Challenge #9 is the glitz, glam & glitter challenge.

Challege #2 is the use craft card stock challenge.

I used the Cricut Paisley Cartridge for the shoe and everything was cut at 3 inches.

I used blackberry swirl, tempting turquoise, silver metallic, craft and yellow card stock.

The card was cut out of tempting turquoise at 9 X 4.

The 1st. layer is cut at 8.75 X 3.75 inches.

I added 2 layers of ribbon around the first layer and then tied a knot around it.

The sentiment is computer generated with a craft base underneath the sentiment. The shoe was put on an action wobble so that it could appear to be tapping up and down.

My Pink Stamper Challenges

This is the first card I made for The Pink Stampers National Scrapbook Challenge. The challenge was to make a cupcake card. This was a super easy card and I had a blast making it. It's a square card cut at 4.25 inches.

The cupcake was cut at 3 inches along with all it's layers from the Birthday Bash Cricut Cartridge and all the pieces were inked around edge.

All the paper for this project was from the Colorbok Bright Paper Pack or from my scraps (the red and green paper).

The orange layer was cut into a 4 inch square.

The cupcake was put on pop dots and the buttons are held on with mini glue dots.

This card is for the 3D challenge. You could make a 3D project or put something 3D on your card. I knew I didn't have time to do an entire 3D project today so I decided to add something 3D to my card.

This is an A2 size card and the base is cut from Bazzill Tangelo Blast Card Stock

The bee designer paper is cut at 4 X 5.25 and is from the Colorbok Bright Paper Pack.

The bee, from the Create A Critter Cricut Cartridge was cut at 3.5 inches and used all bazzill card stock.

Blackberry Swirl, Tangelo Blast and Walnut Cream.

I used Peachy Keen Stamps for his face. The Cute and Cuddly Face Assortment. PK-440

Then his cheeks were chalked with Stampin Up chalk.

The flowers were made with 3 punches I purchased at Joann's.

My daughter and I made the drops that are in the center of each flower

I put a pop dot under each flower and the bee is placed on an action wobble to give the card even more dimension. My bee is a little more orange than the normal bee. I did it to match the background paper.

Mothers Day 3

This was my idea of a funny card for my mom for her special day and of course a little way to poke fun at my sisters. I have 3 sisters and my mom would never have a favorite. But it sure is fun just to think, even for a minute, that I could be the favorite. I wrote mom a note with this card that said she had to put it on the TV where everyone could see it and put my sister's cards behind it. LOL This was a real simple card to make and I think my mom will get a real chuckle out of it.

It's a 4 X4 white square card base.

I then cut a 2.25 X 3.75 inch piece of black to go across the top and a 1.25 X 3.75 inch piece of pink to go across the bottom. I added 2 pieces of ribbon. A larger white piece and then a narrow pink piece to wrap around and tie in a knot. This covered where the two pieces of paper met.

The stamped design was colored using water color pencils and blended with a blending pen. I cut the design out and popped it up on pop dots. The sentiment is a metal tag that I had gotten at a local thrift store. I had never seen anything like them before and really thought they were cool. I popped the sentiment up on pop dots too. Super easy and done. Now all I have to do is sit back and wait until mothers day when my sisters start calling to refute who the favorite really is. This way I know for sure that they are going to call and then I get to talk to each of them all in one day. God not only blessed me with great parents but also with the best sisters anyone could ever ask for. I think you all have heard all you want to about my family, so on to the card.

Mothers Day 2

This is the card I made for my mom. Again, the designer paper was my inspiration. I have fallen in love with this paper pack. The only bad thing about that pack is that there are only 36 pages and so I can see me going through the whole pack very quickly. LOL Yep, I'll definitely be ordering more. My mom is a very special lady and I'm very thankful to have her in my life. I just wished we lived closer because I don't get to see her near as much as I wish I did. I live in Florida and my mom lives in West Virginia. So we are seperated by a lot of miles, but I know without a doubt that she's always there when I need her. She's the greatest Momma in the whole world.

So now to tell you how I put the card together,

 what products I used and where you can purchase them too.

This is an A2 size card with Very Vanilla from Stampin Up as my card base.

Then I cut the designer paper at .25 inch shorter and it's from Custom Crops called Imaginesce Garden Party.

I used the Cricut Cartridge Twinkly Toes for the scalloped oval. All the pieces were cut at 3 inches and the

1st layer is Baja Breeze from Stampin Up

2nd layer is Very Vanilla from Stampin Up

3rd layer is Bazzill Pineapple from Joann's

The word "Mom" is cut from the Cricut Cartridge Cursive at 1.5 inches and welded together on my gypsy.

I put faux stitching around the oval with my Stampin Up white gel pen.

Then I finished the card off with a little swarovski crystal bling, that I got from ebay. They are 2 mm crystals that were given as a free gift. I never would have thought to order any that small. I have since fallen in love with them and think in some cases the smaller the better. They were so tiny that I was able to put them in the center of tiny little flowers. I think they really added the one missing element to this project. I have found these crystals on ebay and have purchased them from 2 different sellers. After comparing them I will be doing my future purchases from "Tami's Place". She can be found on ebay. Her crystals just seemed to sparkle more than the other ones and isn't that the whole point of using those kinds of crystals. Getting the most bling for you buck. So if any of you are interested in purchasing swarovski crystals for your projects, check her out.

Mothers Day 1

This is probably one of my favorite cards. I've felt like I've been in a card slump lately. But am real happy with how this one turned out. My inspiration for this card came from the Imaginisce Garden Party 6 X 6 paper pack. I love everyone of  the papers in the pack. They are all completely awesome.

I started with an A2 size base made out of Baja Breeze and then cut my designer paper down by 1/4 inch. I cut the heart from the Cricut Lite Twinkle Toes Cartridge at 3 inches and all of it's layers. The word mom was cut at 1 inch from the Cursive Cartride to make it fit inside the heart. I then cut my ribbon and put it on and added 5 light pink swarovski crystals to accent the heart.

God Bless the USA 3

This card will be going to a very good friend of mine, who has been overseas since December. This is his third tour over there and I know it's been really hard on his wife and children back here in the states. He is a great guy and I hope I can bring a smile to his face with this card. Stay safe Jesse!

I started with a white card base and then cut .50 inch stripes of red paper. I cut a 2.5 X 2.5 inch square and ran it through my big shot. I then staggered the red pieces to make red and white stripes. I printed my sentiment on the computer and then cut it to fit in one of the white stripes. I inked the blue stars up with platinum ink to accent the stars and the card was finished.

God Bless the USA 2

My first patriotic card went to a soldier who had served her time overseas and is safely (Thank God) back here in the states with her family. I adopted a soldier through an organization called adoptaussoldier.org and this card will be going to him. My job was to adopt him and send him encouraging notes, postcards and packages during his time overseas. I even made him some cards already addressed for him to send back to his family here in the states. That was a lot of fun. It was a great opportunity to get to know a young man, willing to give of himself to make sure that my family and I were protected. He is my hero! I was very thankful for the opportunity to help him get through what is, I'm sure a very difficult period in his life and I'm thankful to say that I am able to call him my friend now.

Now on to the card.

This is an  A2 size card and again a very simple design. It is going to a guy after all, so I tried to keep it more plain than I usually would do.

Joann's - Cuttlebug embossing folder (Stars)

Wal-mart - primary red, blue and white cardstock and blue and red buttons

Sentiment was computer generated.

I embossed a larger piece of red cardstock and then trimmed it down so that I could get the 2 stars across the way I wanted. Then added the blue beside it. I cut the sentiment and placed it in the center of the blue, then trimmed it to make it even and fit my card and then added the 3 buttons across the top with glue dots. So you can see there really wasn't a whole lot of measuring with this card. So for those of us who sometimes fumble with measurements this is a great card design to try. If God provides you the opportunity today, tell a service man or woman that you appreciate the job they are doing. I sure do!

God Bless the USA

I'm sure by now most of you know what happened last night. A lot of work by our armed services and a lot of our military men and women have lost their lives, to make sure that the United States of America was safe from a very dangerous man that caused one of the biggest tragedies is US history. Well, today I would like to post this card in honor of our amazing service women and men. There is one person in particular, the one I entend to send this card out to. Her name is Kerry Duff and alot of you may know her as duffer9904 on you tube. She is a very sweet lady and mother of 2 young children. She sacrificed her time with her family and risked her very life to go overseas, defend our country and fight for our safety. If you get a chance drop her a note and let her know that you appreciate the service she did for our country.

Now on to the card:

All the card stock for this card came from wal-mart. Craft color, primary red and navy blue.

I embossed the card using a Darice embossing folder called star border. I got it at Custom Crops.

(I  love that store.)

The red,white and blue twine is from Pink by Design.

The star is one I had in my stash.

This is an A2 size card and all the layers were cut down in .25 inch increments.

The saying is computer generated.

My Creative Time with Emma has a great stamp set that would work for patriotic cards, called My Little Firecracker. I don't have that set so I had to go with one on my computer. But I wanted to make sure that you all knew about it and might want to purchase it to make cards for the fourth of July or send to any folks you may know who are in the military to let them know that we appreciate their hard work.

Frog Card 3

Hi folks, I'm  back again. My daughter loves frogs so she's always the inspiration behind all of my frog cards. So this card has a pink background and I figure it will work for a girl card too, even with a frog on it. All the papers from this card were done using my scraps so I don't have any information on the papers I used. The frog was cut from the create a critter cricut cartridge at 3.5 inches. I used glossy accents on the frogs eyes and glitter glue on her cheeks. The stamp is from Stampin Up. The ribbon is from wal-mart. I fell in love with this ribbon the first second I saw it. But I didn't have many colors of paper then and it was a little difficult to match. I've over come that problem now, I'm happy to say.

I got to go to Joann's on Tuesday and most of you are thinking, "Well, okay?" But it's a big deal to me. I live in a small town without any craft stores near by and I have an electric wheelchair which I need, so taking it places is a large undertaking. So I was exstatic when my daughter found her prom dress and I found out that there was a Joann's in the very next plaza. To give you an idea of how tiny this store was, I think I've been in gas stations bigger than this Joann's. I wanted to purchase some stickles, because everyone seems to love to add it for some bling on their projects and I don't have any. Well, I asked the lady where they keep their stickles at and she looked at me like my head was on backwards. After I explained to her what stickles was, yes - she works in Joann's and I had to tell her what stickles were. She took me right to the glitter glue. So needless to say, I still have no stickles. But I do think the glitter glue did okay on my frogs cheeks. I just had to let it dry and then add a second coat to get enough bling to suit me.

Frog Card 2

This is an A2 size card and as most of you have guessed he is from the Create A Critter Cricut Cartridge. He was cut at 3.75 inches. The patterned paper is from Colorbok at Wal-mart. The ribbon is from Big Lots. The stamp "fabulous" is from Stampin up. The circles on the top layer have glitter glue on them from Wal-mart. The card base is from my stash, so I'm not sure what exact company made it. This was another real simple card and I think it turned out really cute. Most of my cards go to the handicapped children in my kid's classes or the children that my husband and I teach at Live Oak Church of the Nazarene. Which explains why most of my cards have a kid like feel to them. I hope you like it as much as I do.

Frog Card 1

I have been going through cricut withdrawals. My cricut broke and had to go to the shop. Well, let me tell you, Provo Craft stands behind their products. They emailed me a Fed Ex label to print out, so it didn't cost me anything to send off my machine. Then as soon as the man gave me the tracking number I emailed it to the lady I had been speaking with from their customer service department and she gave authorization for a brand new cricut to be released to me. It was all done and my new machine was here in less than a week. WOW!

I am one happy camper.

But for one whole week I was without my cricut and this is one of the cards I made, while I suffered in silence. LOL

So let me start by telling you how I did it and the products I used.

Joann's - a wooden frog and he is real thin so I thought it would be perfect for a card.

Custom Crops - (Crafts Too) Butterfly Embossing Folder

Papertrey Ink - Spring Rain (A2 size card) and ripe avecado ribbon

Stampin Up - Old Olive Cardstock

Homemade Glimmer Mist

I started with my A2 size card base and then cut the old olive at 4 X 5.25. Then I ran it through my big shot with the butterfly embossing folder. I absolutely love that folder. Custom Crops is very quickly becoming my favorite on line store for embossing folders. Then I placed my top layer in my spray box and sprayed it with my homemade glimmer mist. I know there are several you tube videos out there telling you how to make them. I use rubbing alcohol with mine because I think it dries quicker and doesn't seem to warp the paper as bad as water does.I added the ribbon and tied the knot around it. Then added my frog on top. I thought about adding some bling or using my gel pen on the marks following the butterflies. But I don't have a lot of boy cards so I decided to leave this one real simple. I really like how it turned out and my son said that the butterflies were food for the frog. I never really thought about it that way before.

This is an A2 size card.

The center of the flower are drops my daughter and I made and we had a blast. As soon as I can figure out how to do a video my daughter and I will do a tuturiol on how we made them.

I contacted Judy, the very kind lady from http://www.craftyjar.blogspot.com/ to see if I could purchase some paper flowers she made and showed on her blog. She is so wonderful. I got an email back and she said she would just send me some and she also emailed me the instructions on how to make them. Well, I got this big envelope in the mail from her and I was so excited. It had one of those gummy seals where it could be opened and closed real easy. Well, when I opened it, there was a card from her in it and NO flowers. I wasn't going to say anything to her about it but then I didn't want her to think that she had went to all that hard work and I never used any of them. So I contacted her and we both hope that the post office likes the flowers they got as much as we did. Possibly a good reason why we should tape our envelopes shut too when we put them in the mail.

Now comes confession time. I took a picture of Judy's card because I wanted to always be able to remember it. It is only the 3rd homemade card I've ever gotten. I mentioned how much I loved her flowers right? Well, I took it off the card she sent and put it on this card I made. I hope you're not upset with me Judy. I guess it's kinda my version of recycling. LOL

I got on line yesterday and couldn't find the exact kind of punch she told me to use, but very close and ordered them. So hopefully you'll see more of these flowers in all colors on my cards in the future.

Bunny Card 3

Hi everyone. This is bunny card 3 and as most of you already know this bunny is from the Create A Critter Cricut Cartridge. The bunny and all her layers were cut at 4 inches.

The stiped mat is from the Martha Stewart Playful in Pink Stack

The solid colored mat and card base are from Colorbok.

This is an A2 size card and the layers are cut down in .25 inch increments.

I used my very first action wobble on this bunny so if it looks like she may be a little crooked, it's because she's on the move. I love those things.

The pink ribbon and buttons all came from wal-mart.

I used my white gel pen to put stitch lines around the bunny's ears and tummy and inked around the edges of

her in pink pirouette from stampin up.

Again I used the same cut as from Bunny Card 1. I think he has character. LOL

The card base (A2) is from my stash and I don't know what kind it is, sorry.

Pink by Design - Love You Bunches Stamp Set

Stampin Up - dimensionals, pearl (colored pink with my bic markers for the nose), uniball signo gel pen for the faux stitching.

Wal-mart - pink pom pom for tail, 5 mm wiggle eyes, and the pink rhinestones.

Heat Setting tool for the rhinestones is my irock.

Of course, this is a girl bunny, the pink tail gives it away. She was real fun to do and it's a very simple design. The only issue I see with this card is that it would probably need to be hand delivered because her tail is really puffy and may not withstand the mail.

On a side note, I got on ebay and ordered some swarovski heatset crystals. They came and I can hardly wait to use them. They were actually cheaper than the stones that come for the irock. She even sells them in large quantities if you want that many. I got 150 crystals for $6.00. Which I think is an awesome deal. They also have them plain and you could use a mini glue dot to adhere them down if you don't have an irock. She sells them in all different colors and sizes.

I don't get to go to the craft stores very much because there are none where I live and transporting my electric wheelchair is a huge task. So when I find something that I think is a great craft deal, I like to share it. I hope that you all don't mind. I would also like to say that I have no deal or arrangement with this seller what so ever. I know that I like bling and I can tell from some of you all's blogs that you do to. I ordered one size and am going to try to order more. I can't do the large orders, oh my, my husband would fall over if I bought 1500 swarovski crystals. But I was thinking that if a few of us ladies each wanted to order a set of the 150 crystals we could all get different sizes and agree on an amount and share with each other. Bunny card 1

I absolutely love the patterned paper on this card. If you look in the bunny's baskets you will see that they are carrying bibles. I thought that was an awesome way to show the true meaning of Easter.

Now let me tell you what I used to make my first Easter Card. I will put my second one up later on in the week. These cards are for the other Pastors at my church.

I wanted to make my card but was searching for a bunny that was a little different than all the other ones I had made. I had just gotten some new peachy keen face stamps so I was looking at my doll cartridges and thats when I found this bunny. He's not real fancy, but I think he cleans up nice. I inked around the edges. Then I traced out the outline so he had a little definition and stood out a little more. Then I bent the top of one of his ears down and attached it with a part of a dimensional. I chalked his ears and cheeks to give him his rosey glow. Then I added the Marvy Marker to his tail and when you heat it up it gets nice and puffy. If you don't want it quite so full you can let it dry before you heat set it. But I wanted my bunny to have a big fluffy tail. I took the pearls and colored them with bic markers, yellow for the large ones on the corner and pink for the small one on his nose.

Sympathy Cards

I don't know about you all, but sympathy cards are the hardest cards for me to make. I struggle even trying to think of the right thing to say and so normally I don't have any in my card box. Well, thank God I did these cards two weeks ago because I needed one yesterday. My dear friend died and left behind her son, my

god-son. This has been one of the hardest things I've ever had to deal with. So when I needed a card to give her new husband (they had been married a month) I was able to get one out of my card box. Because God knows I was in no condition to even begin to try to make one.

The card is a A2 size card base from Stampin Up - Regal Rose

The first layer is cut at 4.0 X 5.25 inches in Fine Linen from Papertrey Ink

The second layer is cut at 3.75 X 5.0 (It's from a RAK I received from Kerry Duff and you can find her videos on You Tube by looking for Duffer9904)

The ribbon is Fine Linen from Papertrey Ink.

I printed the saying from my computer and I cut it out with the shape cutters from Creative Memories.

The second card is another card I made and placed in my card box.

It also is a A2 size card cut from Fine Linen from Papertrey Ink

The first layer is cut at 4.0 X 5.25 inches in Baja Breeze from Stampin Up

The second layer is again from the RAK from Kerry Duff.

The ribbon is Fine Linen from Papertrey Ink

Please keep my god-son and her husband in your prayers. This loss was so shocking and unexpected. That my heart is absolutely breaking. I know my blog is suppose to be a place you all can stop in and see the cards and crafts that I've made and I'm sure that you don't expect to have to hear me crying. But I just need prayer. I will be going to the funeral this week and it's going to take all the strength that the Lord can give me to get me through this. Please pray for my 2 children with down syndrome, Jesse and Mariah. They considered Levi their brother and are both taking this very hard, as well.

Carrying Case for embossing folders

Someone requested that I show the carrying case I store my embossing folders in and wanted to know where I got it from. Well, it's nothing fancy, I believe it's actually a toiletry bag, which is larger than a makeup bag. It fit's great and when I buy some embossing folders they have smaller ones that come in the set, there is even room for them on the side of the other ones. I even have some that are 4.5 X 6 inches and they still fit great. I got the bag at Winn Dixie on clearance but I'm sure they have something similiar at Wal-mart, CVS or Walgreens. It has a sturdy strap so that I can even carry it when I go to crops. The bag measures 9 inches wide, by 6 inches high and 6 inches deep. So as you can tell just by the measurements that I have room for a lot more embossing folders. Which is handy because Custom Crops has some good prices on some embossing folders that I might just have to have. Check them out. They carry folders from quickutz, indentz, and crafts-too and they are generally priced around $3.00 or less. You can't beat that price. Plus you can find some limited addition cuttlebug folders and other sizzix embossing folders there as well. Quite a selection at a real good price.

A helpful crafting tip

Hi Everyone, first I'd like to say that I'm sorry for the darkness of the pictures. But with my flash it kinda washed them out and you couldn't see the designs. I absolutely love to add texture to my cards through embossing folders. Well, I have them all stored together in a handy traveling case with extra space for the ones I get in the future. The only problem was, I'd finish my cards and then I'd say, "Darn, why didn't I emboss that piece." Well, I didn't emboss it because they are neatly stored away in their case out of my sight.

You all know how it goes, outta sight, outta mind.

So what I did, was get a 12 X 12 size of plain white cardstock. I cut 4 inch strips then I cut each strip at 3 inches. On the back I wrote the name of each folder and who I bought it from, encase someone would ask where they could get that folder in the future. Then I flipped them over and ran each one through my big shot. I used my half inch circle punch, to put a hole in the corner of each rectangle. I tried using my crop-i-dile, but the hole just wasn't big enough to give me the flexibility and space I wanted. So now I've got a nice size rectangle that I can see and lay on my projects to decide which embossing folder I want to use. There's even enough room to put two side by side so I can decide which one I like best, without having to take them off of the ring. Taking them off of the ring would just give my little girl a chance to walk off with it to have something to color on or for it to fall on the floor and my dog to eat it. They hang right in front of me and now they are getting more use than ever before. I even cut some extra pieces, so when I'm ready to get more embossing folders I don't have to pull everything out and cut up more. There's never any harm in being prepared, just encase you see a new embossing folder that you can't live without. LOL

I found this saying on one of my computer programs and just knew I had to make a card to go with it. It was a very simple card to make and can be put together in minutes. I hope you think it's as funny as I do and want to make one yourself.

The cut is from Paperdoll Dress Up at 3.25 real dial size.

I ran the black layer and the bottom of the die cut through the rose cuttlebug folder and then lightly inked over the roses to make them stand out as if they were a lace design.

I added a little adhesive on the back, across the top to get the lace to stick.

Then I placed the recollections pop dots in the center of the bra and stampin up dimensionals around the edge to make the center of the bra higher than the edges.

Hedgehog Card

I started with a A2 size card base. Added the first layer and then ribbon. Then put my hedgehog, cut at 3 inches on top of that.

I used the cut out of the nose and traced another copy of it on the plum pudding card stock, cut it out by hand and raised it up with dimensionals. It added an additional layer and I think it made the hedgehog look a little more complete. I then used recollections pop dots to add an additional layer. I wanted it to stand up farther than the dimensionals from stampin up that I added to the nose.

It's a Party

This is one of the sample invitations I made for a young lady from my church.

Everything was made to fit a A2 size card and envelope

I used the Wild Card and Cricut Classic Font Cartridges.

All the papers were from Colorbok.

I welded Sarah's name to a white square and then cut her name out again 2 times. Then cut the letters apart to get the mixed colors. The white piece was for the inside of the card and all the party information. I used my irock to add a little bling to the "i" in the, it's a party.

Recipe:

I made 70 of these cards including envelopes from the Wild Card Cartridge.

All the cuts for the card base were done at 4 inches.

The S is from the Storybook Cartridge and is cut at 1.8 inches.

I coated the "S" with Stampin Up Versa Mark and then dipped it in Ultra Thick Embossing Powder  and heat set it each time for a total of  3 times. It gave it a shiney, thick coat.

I added the Stampin Up rhinestones to the center of each of the embossed flowers.

Then used the velcro circles to keep the card closed.

The party information was printed from my computer and cut out at 3.25 inches.

A black square was cut at 3.5 inches, the information was layered on top and then layered on top of the invitation.

I also made pillowboxes to match the invitations from a Stampin Up die (#113466) for the party favors, but forgot to take pictures of them. They really turned out cute in black, tempting turquoise, and raspberry fizz. They were the perfect addition to pull the colors from the invitations back into the actual party.

I do NOT  work for Stampin Up, but do know a great demonstrator if you need one.

Monogram Card

The scalloped circle card was cut from the Wild Card Cartridge at 4.25 inches.

The card stock was black and tempting turquoise from Stampin Up and  raspberry fizz from PTI.

The silver rhinestones are from imaginesce and applied with my irock.

The front circle was embossed with elegant bouquet from Stampin Up.

The S was cut from the Storybook Cartridge and then embossed with ultra think embossing powder.

It will fit in a A2 size envelope so it can be put in the mail.

Recipe

The card base was cut at 8 X 8 and scored in half, making it a 4 X 8 card. It will fit perfectly in a business size envelope.

The polka dot paper was cut into a 3.5 X 3.5 square with a .50 X 3.5 rectangle placed on top to make a faux cuff. The entire pocket was faux stitched on all four sides and on  the faux cuff. The pocket was then glued down on 3 sides with my ATG gun. Being very careful to stay as close to the edge to keep room for my bear to fit in. The cuff was raised up on dimensionals for a little added texture and depth. I then placed the flower buttons on the left side to make the pocket look like it's off to the side of a shirt.
