A few Christmas Pics to Share with My Friends.

I just wanted to show you a few pictures of the kids having fun for Christmas. One of the things we do every year, is that the kids get to unwrap one gift on Christmas Eve. It is always a new pair of pajamas. My parents did the same thing for me and my sisters. We always slept in my dad's t-shirts, so I guess this was there way of making sure we didn't look like little rats on Christmas morning.

Danée's friend celebrated Christmas with us. It was her first Christmas ever and I think that she really enjoyed it. The next photo's are of Jesse and Mariah meeting Santa this year.

It was an amazing Christmas an I am truly bless.

Bottle Cap Charm for my Christmas Mini

This was a real fun project and I'm hoping to get more of these caps to do things with in the future. I want to make some with my kids pictures in them to hang from my next mini. There really are endless possibilities for these kinds of things. First I'd like to say that I'm sorry for not being on camera for some of this. I just don't know where my head was.
Thanks for visiting me today and happy crafting.

The Best Gift My Husband Has Ever Made For Me.

I really love this and am so grateful to my husband for thinking to do something like this for me. He said he made it with his "cricut". LOL He is going to hang it up above my craft space in the living room. Didn't he do a great job?
Thanks for visiting me today and happy crafting.

Criss Cross Card

My second criss cross card for another of my husbands brothers. I used the Kaisercraft Belle Collection. I really am enjoying these kinds of cards and may find myself doing many more. I like the idea that the card comes with a built in envelope. I used Iamroses poinsettia flowers that I sprayed with homemade glimmer mist and really loved the shine that it gave the flower. I ordered some tiny flat flowers, the ones in the center, from Iamroses a long time ago and they sent the poinsettia flowers as a gift for my order. Then for the sentiment I used K. Andrew Designs - Winter Wishes. I used Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress inks and punches from Stamp-in Up.

*I am almost finished with my first mini album and will try to post it next week. That will probably be my only post for that week. My daughter is in her best friends wedding and we will be getting all the finishing touches done. But after the first of the year, I will be back to my normal life and posting regularly.
I hope that your Christmas is filled with God's blessing and you enjoy your time with family and friends.

Thanks for visiting me today and happy crafting.

I can't believe what I worked up the nerve to make.

I am making my first mini album. I have always wanted to make one and really didn't have a clue what to do. So I watched some youtube videos and Arlene from mybutterflykisses was very kind and wrote me back and encouraged me to go ahead and try. I figured out a few things along the way and I made a few mistakes but I've learned from them and won't make them again next time. It isn't finished yet, but as soon as I get it done, I'll be sure to post it. I just wanted to let you all know what I was up to and if there is a project that you've not had the nerve to tackle, step out of your comfort zone and give it a try.
Thanks for visiting me today and happy crafting.
Merry Christmas.

Criss Cross Christmas Card

This was my first Criss Cross Card. I saw a tutorial on butterfly kisses youtube channel and I just had to give it a try. My husband asked me to make cards for his family, so this is one of the four that I came up with. The card base is bazzill card stock and the designer paper is from Kaisercraft Belle Collection. The punches are from Stamp-in Up and the sentiment is from K. Andrew Designs Winter Wishes Set. I know I've said it before, but her stamps are amazing. They stamp great every time.
The flowers I received in a RAK and I used my homemade glimmer mist to tint them green and put the shimmer on them. All the pieces for the card, including the flowers were inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Vintage Photo. I'm very quickly becoming addicted to his inks.

Grinch Pills

I am really excited about this project and am looking forward to church tomorrow to give it to my Pastor. We are blessed with an amazing senior Pastor who has an awesome sense of humor. So I think he will really love these Grinch Pills.

The Grinch Poem reads:
Feeling kinda grouchy?
Holiday spirit can't be found?
Just try these little "Grinch Pills."
They're the best medicine around.
Whether eating a whole handful,
or munching one or two.
These tasty little "pills"
Take the "Grinch" right
out of you!

I used the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More Cricut cartridge to make the container. I just measured my tic tac box and used it for my dimensions. I think it turned out cute and I know that my Pastor will get a kick out of them. For the base of the match box I used Papertrey Ink Card Stock so that the base would be good and sturdy. Then using DCWV I made the top that slides on and off. It probably would have been better to use a sturdier card stock for that also. It gets pulled on a lot to open and close it and I didn't think about. I then printed out the Grinch Poem and cut it to fit and attached it to the top of the box.
I hope it brings a smile to your face and a giggle to your heart.

Another Super Quick and Easy Tag

I have been having a blast making tags for my gifts this year. They are very quick projects that are cute and give instant gratification. I hope that you like my snowman tag. On the back of the snowman's head is the to and from. My little girl liked it so much that she put it on the Christmas tree. Seeing as how our tree fell in the middle of the night last night and nearly scared me to death. I think I should stick with paper and non-breakable ornaments next year.
I used Christmas Eve Chowder from Jilli Bean Soup and Papertrey Ink paper for the pink on the hat and the white snowman's head. The rest I just used my bic markers for the eyes, nose and mouth and Stamp-in Up Pastel Chalks for the cheeks. My favorite part is the K. Andrew Stamp set Winter Wishes for the "Brrr" and the snowflake on the ball of the hat. Click here to see all of Kristal's awesome stamps.

Mariah and her stocking

In the last week, I went to Jesse's class, my god-daughters class and finally Mariah's class. They all had such a good time making their stockings. I've already planned the project for my trip back in February for Valentines Day. I didn't have permission to photograph the entire class and I couldn't take everyones photo and leave someone out so I waited until I got home and I took a picture of Mariah with her stocking. She thought she was big stuff with her mommy there that day. She was so polite and introduced me to everyone in her class, quite the little hostess.

Gift Card Holders

A quick video with several different gift card holders. They were done using different papers from my stash and designs from my cricut. But the one constant in all these projects were my K. Andrew Design Stamps. I really encourage you to go and check out all the awesome stamps that she has.

Penguin Box filled with Homemade Hot Cocoa Mix

This was a super fun project and I got the idea from Holly Gagnon. The box is from Life's a Party and the penguin is from doodlecharms. I made the box as big as possible on a 12 X 12 sheet of paper. It would have probably looked cuter had I not jammed a giant bag of hot cocoa mix in it for my god-daughter. It was a tad stuffed, I wanted to make sure that she had plenty. I'm hoping to make more of these for some small gifts for some kids I know.

I decided to make a bookmark for a stocking stuffer for my friend. She loves to read and takes very good care of her books. She wouldn't put just any bookmark in them because she wouldn't want one that would damage her books. So I decided to go with this one. It goes over the page she is on and has 2 magnets, one on the front and one on the back. When you close it, the magnets stick and keep your place secure and don't harm your books at all. I hope she likes this. I used 2 different K. Andrew design stamps - winter wishes and amazing you. The snowman is from a retired stamp-in up set. I designed the bookmark on my gypsy using George and Basic shapes (a rectangle and and oval and then welded them together). Super easy and quick. I think I'm going to make more of them for my friends at church to put in their Bibles.

For the hop today, I've created  some pretty boxes to put under my tree and fill with goodies for my awesome kids. As a parent, being able to make this day special for my kids is so important to me. I want them to be able to walk into the living room on Christmas day and be in awe of all those pretty presents just waiting to be unwrapped by them.

All the stamps used for these tags are K. Andrew Designs - Winter Wishes Set, Amazing You, and the bonus Peppermini set (that can be yours for free for placing an order this month). Click here to see all the rest of her awesome stamps.

Making Stockings with Jesse's Class

I used my stocking die from Stamp-in Up and had a blast with my son Jesse's class. They each made their own stocking, we punched a hole in them and they hung them on their class Christmas tree with red yarn. I love going to his class. They all make me feel so loved.
One awesome group of kids, showing off their stockings on their tree. I was so proud of them. The handsome young man on the left is my baby.

Tall Santa Punch Art and Card

Tuesday Tutorial at Getting Cricky - Grinch Punch Art

I'm still working on my punch book and might I add - having a blast. I really hope that some of you are pulling out your punches and trying to make some of the projects you see here or on youtube. This is something that gives you other options with your punches than just using them to put sentiments in. Once you start doing them, everything you look at you see shapes in and how you can turn it into a piece of art. It is especially good for those who do not have a die cutting machine or big shot for dies. Please give it a try, it really is a lot of fun.

Another Gift Card Ornament

This was another gift card holder I made and even used what I thought was a mistake at first. Just like so many people say - There are no mistakes in paper crafting! I'm a believer now!
I made a mistake when I told you where you can go to check out K. Andrew Design Stamps. You can click here and it will take you right to K. Andrews Blog (Getting Cricky)

Simple Sunday Challenge - Christmas Ornament

I had made a bunch of these ornament to put on my tree one year. They look so complicated but are super simple and put together with straight pins and a styrophoam ball. My favorite part is the tag I made for it. I have a very dear friend and I wanted him to have one for his tree. I used the Amazing You stamp set by K. Andrew Designs. Click here and it will take you to Kristals blog where you can see all of her awesome stamps. I even made a little box to fit my ornament. Since my friend's even less computer savvy than I am, it's okay to tell you all. I plan to take it to church and slip it into the foyer, so when he comes to church he'll get it. I have 3 sisters and no brothers, so he's the closest thing to a brother that I've ever had.

Gift Card Ornament

A quick decorated gift card holder with a fun little twist on how to give it. Can you imagine going to your friends house to see their Christmas tree and just slip this on with their other decorations to find later. I think it would be a fun surprise.
Have you ever gotten a gift from someone and then had nothing to give them in return. That's happened to me, when I didn't know they were buying me anything for the holidays and I've always felt awkward taking a gift when I knew I had nothing to give them back. Well, with this you just slip it on a branch on their tree and walk away and avoid that awkward moment for your friend.
It doesn't have to be a gift card that you put inside. This little card is also a great way to tell a friend, in a short message, how much you love them and appreciate their friendship. I call them my pick me up cards. They are super easy to decorate, you can have different colored bases already cut out and prepared. Put a quick decoration on the front, slip in the note and you've just made your friends day.
The sentiment is a K. Andrew Design Stamp from the Winter Wishes stamp set. Click here to check out all of Kristals awesome stamps. The die was from My Creative Time.

Sara's Bridal Shower Favors

Today's project is the party favors I made for my daughters best friend Sara's bridal shower. Her colors are white, silver and peacock. So I took my daughter's maid of honor dress and used it to match the paper I chose. Peacock is a very hard color to figure out.
The purse is cut from Tag's, Bag's, Boxes and More Cricut Cartridge. It was cut at 8 inches on my gypsy and fits great on an 8.5 X 11 sheet of card stock. I used paper trey ink for the white and peacock color. The silver ribbon is from Wal-mart. The scalloped circle and white circle are Stamp-in Up punches. The ink I used was Jenni Bowlin Spice Tin ink, which matched the peacock color almost perfect. The sentiment is a K. Andrew Designs Stamp set called Amazing You. Click here to see all of Kristal's awesome stamps. I chose the "so sweet" stamp because it was so sweet of everyone to come and support Sara in her shower and upcoming marriage and because I took chocolate nuggets and wrapped them with monogrammed address labels to cover the sweet chocolates. I made a point of getting the plain chocolate ones because they were already wrapped in silver paper. So the colors were carried through into the goodies inside the bag.

I stamped 50 tags and everyone of them came out perfect the first time. Now that's what I call super stamps.
Thanks for visiting me today and happy crafting.

P.S.
I was going to show you the card I made for my aunt Vicki today but just didn't feel like it was appropriate. I asked myself  2 questions: Would Aunt Vicki think it was funny - yes. Would I want the world to know that I did it - no. Most would have considered it funny. But as a woman who considers herself a Christian and strives to set that example in my everyday life. It's not something that I felt I could share with you all and still be true to who I am.  Especially when I know that young people look at my blog. Everything you will see me do is g-rated. Sorry for any ill feelings this may cause.
