Haul Video Part 1 and 2

Hey all, I got to do a little shopping here locally at Wal-Mart, Dollar Tree and on Ebay and thought that I'd share with you some of my finds. I recently started doing alter projects and mini albums, so I needed a few supplies that I didn't have with my regular card making supplies. I hope you all like what I got and am able to find some goodies for yourself.

Thanks for visiting me today and happy crafting.

Rebecca's Baby Shower Blog Hop

Welcome to Lisa’s daughter, Rebecca’s, Baby Shower! What a great idea to have a baby shower between your blogging friends. Lisa has asked that we make a two-page layout which she will present to her daughter. Rebecca is having a boy and her son’s name will be Maxwell Thaddeus. There is a fantastic line-up to check out all of our layouts which I hope you enjoy!!!
If you have arrived here from Maria, then you are at the right place for this baby shower. If you just happened to visit me today or happened upon my blog, I don’t want you to miss a single present for the baby shower and would want you to begin at the very beginning which is the proud soon-to-be-Grandma, Lisa.

The paper for this layout all came from Colorbok from Wal-Mart (it's the same color paper for both pages, but for some reason they look different). I had these Winnie the Pooh stickers in my stash. I am a major Eeyore and Pooh fan. I hope that Lisa and Rebecca both like them and someday little Maxwell will enjoy seeing all the work his Grandma went to to make something so special for him.
Head on over to Barbara for the next stop on this hop.

The paper was all bazzill. The large duck on the first page is a wooden piece I picked up at Wal-Mart. The stamps all come from K. Andrew Designs (her new Valentines Set). Click here and it will take you to the Getting Cricky blog where you can check out all of her amazing stamps. I hope Lisa and her daughter both like this layout and the one I will be putting up tomorrow for you all to see as well. Crafting on a Budget Valentine Treat Box

This was a no cricut or die cutting machine project. It was so easy, it's unbelievable. Some new crafters or for that matter, some of us long time crafters don't have all the fancy tools that others may have. Guess what, - that's okay. Crafting isn't about keeping up with the "Jones" and it takes time to build up your arsenal of craft supplies. So we use what we have.
I went to the dollar store the other day and in the wedding section was these white craft boxes. Twelve in a pack for a dollar. I thought, I can't even make them that cheap. So I picked a pack up and brought them home. My project still isn't quite finished. I'm going to use one of K. Andrew Design Valentine Sets to make a tag to hang around the handle. Kristal's stamps are super awesome. But if you don't have the money to buy stamps right now, you can always print sentiments off of your computer or hand write them.
I measured the front of the box and cut out 2 different pieces of Studio G paper from Wal-Mart, one a .25 inch smaller than the first one. I attached those to the front and back of the box, hole punched 2 holes with my crop-a -dile, (but a regular hole punch would work) and than tied a bow (again Studio G ribbon) through the holes.  I haven't trimmed my ends yet because I still have to put my candy inside. Once it's completely finished, I'll re-post a new picture and show everyone the finished product. But for today I just wanted to show you all some of the things that I'm working on. So for us crafter's on a budget for less than 3 dollars I got enough material to make 12 treat boxes with extra paper left over. I think that is pretty good.
Let me know what you think.

Prayer Journal

I found the book I'm using for the prayer journal at Wal-Mart. I thought it was really cute and didn't know what I was going to do with it, but I knew I would come up with something.
I embroidered the lace piece on my embroidery machine and then added the lollipop flower, feathers and stick pin that I had made. I had gotten a set of thin wooden letters years ago and found them when I was going through some stuff. So I painted it with champagne acrylic paint and attached it to the book with E6000 glue. This is going to my sister Deanna, so that is why there is a D on it.
I thought it would make a perfect prayer journal that she can lay beside her bed or keep in her purse. I know I try to write down my prayer request so that I don't forget them and I'm hoping this will help her also.
I hope you all like it and feel free to leave me some comments about what you think.

U R So Sweet Blog Hop

Hey everyone, this has been such a fun week. We spent this entire week showcasing a particular set of stamps. Mine was the Amazing You stamp set. It was super easy to use those everyday and there are so many other things I could have done with them. They would also work as a set you could use for tags, scrapbook pages and Valentines Day cards.
For today's project I used Kristal's It's Valentines Set.

She makes such awesome stamps. Take a minute and head on over to Kristal's shop and check out her incredible stamps. I know that you will find a bunch that you love. Click here to go to her blog. Use the code sherryfreeship at checkout and you'll get free shipping on your order.

My project for today is a plaque I made for my little girls room.

I used a round plaque that I'd had for a long tie. I painted the edges of the plaque with folk art Champagne acrylic paint. I measured the top of the circle and cut it out of Colorbok Flutter Bye designer paper. Then I used some Iamroses and half back pearls that I got from Kerry Duff (Duffer9904 on youtube). I sprayed the flowers with my homemade shimmer paint, which gave them all of their shine. Then I added a round pink mini paperclip to the cluster of flowers and used that to hold my tag for my project. I used a 1 inch circle punch out of regal rose Stamp-in Up Card Stock and I stamped "with love" from K. Andrew Designs stamps in Jennie Bowlin Spice Tin Ink. I used the die cuts from the paper pack to spell out my little girls name. I really like how it turned out and my little girl loves it. So that makes me very happy.

Next on the hop is Amanda. Be sure to go there and give her lots of blog love.

Day 5 of Promo Week for K. Andrew Designs

This is my last project for the promo week and if you use the code sherryfreeship at www.gettingcricky.com you will get free shipping on your order. Kristal has so many amazing stamp sets and this post would be forever long if I tried to post all of them, so I decided to show you a few of my favorites.
That is the set that I used for the entire week.

This is the new set that is ready for pre-order and I can hardly wait to get them. I love making animal cards, so I know I can use all of these.

Now for my final project for day 5 of the Promo Week.

I hope to have showed you that you can do vintage, shabby chic projects and cute and simple projects all with just one set of Kristals incredible stamps. The paper I used for this project is Sweet Fairy from Prima, Iamroses flowers, xlrg label punch from Stamp-in Up, Tim Holtz Worn Lipstick distress ink and of course, K. Andrew Designs Amazing You Stamp Set. If you haven't gotten to see all my projects this week, please go back and check them out. Day 4 of Promo Week for K. Andrew Designs

It's day 4 and I'm using my "Amazing You" stamp set from K. Andrew Design. Go to Getting Cricky and check out all of Kristal's Amazing stamps and if you use the code sherryfreeship when you are checking out, you will get free shipping on your order. Kristal is such a generous person that a $1.00 from the sale of each set of her stamps go to a particular charity. So lets think about this, you get awesome stamps, free shipping and you get to help someone all at the same time. Sounds like an great deal to me. Here are the two newest stamps sets that are available for preorder. Now would be the perfect time to do this so you get your shipping free.

Now, lets go to the project I made for today.

I just really started doing altered projects and I have had a blast. This project is going to a very special friend of mine, who I can always count on. The flowers are from Iamroses, but actually came from my friend Kerry Duff (Duffer9904 on youtube). The feathers are from my stash. The flourish is from a sizzlet die and the tag is from the xlrg label punch from Stamp-in Up. The sentiment is removable encase she wants to put a picture in it of someone other than herself, but to me - she is a hero. She is a member of the military and serves to protect our country, so the "Amazing You" stamp set was perfect. I hope that you have enjoyed my projects this week. We have one more day of Promo Projects and then we are having a blog hop on Friday. You won't want to miss it.

Day 3 of Promotion Week for K. Andrew Design Stamps

Hey guys, it's me again. This is a very simple card, one that can be put together in a few minutes. But I think you all will like it. Some of the projects I did this week need to be hand delivered, because with the flowers on them they will not fit in a standard A2 size envelope. This is one you can write a quick note, slide in the envelope and have it right out in the mail.

The A2 card base is Stamp-in Up Card Stock (Regal Rose). The designer paper is Colorbok (Girly Girl). Cherries come from EK Success (Jolee's Boutique - Sweet Cherries). The scalloped circle is cut from the Lacy Label Cricut Lite Cartridge. The ink is from Jenni Bowlin (Cough Syrup). The edges were all inked with Tim Holtz Worn Lipstick. Last but not least the stamp is from the Amazing You Stamp Set by K. Andrew Designs. Click on that link and it will take you directly to where you can purchase her awesome stamps. Use the code sherryfreeship and get free shipping on your order this week.

Days 1 & 2 for Promotion Week at Getting Cricky

The Getting Cricky Design Team each choose a set of stamps and are using them this entire week to show you how much you can do with one set and how versatile Kristal's stamps truly are. This project was a lot of fun for me. I had some cards I wanted to do for my sister, so I decided to use this as my opportunity to work on them. Plus I started doing some altered projects and found this to be another opportunity to use my stamps again.
Since I posted my Simply Sunday Challenge yesterday and I still want to get in all 5 of my projects , I'm going to post 2 of them today. I chose the "Amazing You" stamp set. You'll see in my first card that I also added a stamp from the "Sympathetic Sayings" stamp set as well. I used the "You Are Loved" stamp on shrinky dink paper and turned it into a charm placed amongst the flowers.

Here are the stamps that I used below. . . and you can find them by clicking here.

Both cards were made using the Paper Studio Mirabelle Paper Pack. The first card is kind of an odd size. I loved the mat and didn't want to cut it down, so I kept it the way it was and cut my card base at 9 X 6.5. Folded in half it makes a 4.5 X 6.5 card. I used Iamroses flowers, Stamp-in Up Adhesive Pearls and Xlrg Label Punch, Papertrey Ink Ribbon, Shrinky Dink Paper and K. Andrew Design Stamps. I hope that you think my cards turned out nice. I sure hope that my sister does too.

Before I bring this post to a close, I wanted to give you a chance to see Kristals awesome Valentine Stamps that are available for order.

Click here and it will take you right to them.
Be sure to post sherryfreeship, to get free shipping on your order.

Let It Snow Simply Sunday Challenge

For this Simply Sunday Challenge you need to do some kind of embossing. For my project today I decided to do some heat embossing, which I haven't done in a long time. It was a lot of fun and I had forgotten how pretty it is.

I just learned not to long ago how to do the criss cross card and am really loving that design. It's like giving a pretty envelope with your card. There is plenty of room for writing on the back of the card base.  The designer paper is from Jillibean Soup Collection (Christmas Eve Chowder). Stamp-in Up products are bashful blue card stock, snowflake stamps and small tag punch. I used a snowflake charm and bead from my stash. Twine is from Pink by Design. My favorite stamps are from K. Andrew Designs at Getting Cricky. I just love her stamps, they stamp perfect every time and you can get that set by clicking on the link above.

The Getting Cricky Design Team will be doing a new post every day for the next week each showcasing a particular set for the entire week. That should give you an idea how versatile these stamps really are. So be sure to come back and check out our new post everyday.

Valentines Blog Hop Day 2

We have a young woman at church getting ready to have her first child and it's going to be a little girl. I am so excited. So I took one of the flowers I made, securely sewed a bright pink heart button to the center and then added stretchable lace to go around her head. I can't photograph her with it on, because she isn't here yet. But as soon as she is, I'll be sure to snap a picture or two or a ton.
These were so easy to make and I made a video on them a few post back also with a link to the ladies video that I learned them from. If you have a little girl, check these out, super easy, super quick and a lot cheaper than what you pay for them in the store. This way, you can customize them to match any outfit she may be wearing.

Your next hop is to Jen.

Valentine Hop

Hi everyone, this is my post for the Valentine's Hop. It was a very simple project but one that I am hoping to do for my kids class.

This is a red tube of m&m minis. I'm hoping to be able to find enough red tubes, to make more - so I may have to do a lot of looking at different store. The paper around the tube is from Colorbok, the ribbon and buttons are all from Wal-Mart. The charm is made using shrinky dink paper, a Stamp-in Up scalloped circle punch and the K. Andrew Designs "Amazing You" stamp set. Which you can find right here. I love her stamps so much. She has 2 new Valentine sets out and 2 more ready for pre-order. Be sure to check out her on-line store.
Please check out the other post on my blog as well and if you like what you see, I'd love it if you'd become a follower. Please leave comments, they always brighten my day.

My First Flower Headband

I did a video showing you some of the flowers that I made the other day. Well, I enjoyed making them so much that I went to Wal-Mart and got a few more spools of ribbon. They didn't have a lot to pick from, but I did get a few spools. I have a beautiful little great niece who will be turning 1 in a few weeks and she has been in several pageants. Her mommy always puts these big hair bows on her and so I called and asked her if she could use another all white one. She told me that would go with her little Easter dress. So I was so excited, I got right to work on them. I think I made the band a little big, so I am going to make it a little smaller and I'm going to use the pink and lace flower I made the other day on another band.
I used a very wide, narrow box pleated ribbon, added white tulle, then put a piece of a boa feather and added a looped strand of pearls. Once I did that I used E6000 glue to add swarovski crystals all over the flower and tulle. Since my niece doesn't live near me, I asked my daughter to be my model. I hope that you like them and am inspired to make some for a little cutie in your life.

Rolled Flowers

Hey everyone. I saw a tutorial on how to make these flowers and I thought they were so cute, I just had to try them. A special thank you to Kerry Duff (Duffer9904 on youtube), she sent me the exact ribbon I needed in a RAK. So thanks to her kindness I was able to try them last night and didn't have to wait and hope someone could take me to a store. I put the ladies name in my youtube post who came up with this idea, so please go there and check out her videos too. She explains exactly how to do them. Actually she makes several different kinds of flowers and you will love them all.
Okay, here is my version of her flowers. I hope that you like them too.
I am talking very softly in the video, which you probably know is not normal for me. But it was 2:00 in the morning and my family was all asleep, so I was trying to by quiet. I also recorded this with my iphone and I couldn't believe how quick it uploaded to youtube. My other camera would have taken hours. Please forgive the lighting too. I moved my craft space around and haven't gotten my lighting right yet.

Haul Video over the New Year

Got to do a little shopping while I was down south and wanted to share with you what I got. I know that it looks like a got a ton of stuff, and I did. The great part was that most of it was on sale or clearance, so I didn't spend as much as you might think. That's always a good thing.
