I love my children with all my heart, but I have to admit, the closer we get to the first day of school the bigger my smile gets. LOL  I'll be the parent singing, (It's the most wonderful time of the year.) and dancing down the street as the bus drives away. (Only Kidding)

Before I start telling you the products I used. I'd like to thank Anita Cannon, (a fellow design team member). I needed a bus for my card and not just any bus, but the back of the bus. So that you could tell that the bus had picked up the kids and was moving on. Well, they had exactly what I wanted on the Locker Talk Cricut Cartridge but I don't have that cartridge. So I asked if anyone had that cartridge and would be willing to cut it for me. Anita responded immediately and asked what size I wanted. Not only did she send me one bus, she sent 2. So I want to say "Thank You again Anita. I really appreciate what you did for me." I had this card all laid out in my head and having that bus was a crucial piece.

So now back to my card.

I also used the Everyday Paper Doll Cricut Cartridge (Mom and grass) and also the Create A Critter Cricut Cartridge (clouds). Mom was cut at 2.5 inches and all her layers, the grass was cut at .35 inches and the clouds were cut at 1.25, .75, and .50 inches.

I inked around the edges of the clouds. Used a Sakura Gelly Roll Pen for faux stitching and accents.  Peachy Keen Stamps PK-490 Everyday Character Face Stamps.

The road and the grass on the right hand side were cut free hand. My oldest daughter Danée had a lot of great ideas to help me with this card. She is so talented and artistic. I'm real proud of her.

Queen of My Craftroom - Back to School Blog Hop

For today we are making Back to School wrapped candy bars.

The paper was cut at 5.5 X 7.25 inches for a 1.55 ounce Hershey Chocolate Bar.

I used my printer and copy paper to make my own designer paper, ATG tape and a Fiskars Paper Crimper. Most card stock is to thick to use and just won't fold tight enough around your candy.

The video will tell you all the dimensions and other products that I used to make the second wrapped candy bar.

Sometimes, actually every time, I record my videos, I get so nervous. So sometimes my brain says one thing and my mouth says something completely different. Chow Baby Bear

Craft Supply and Idea Book

I started by cutting the chipboard at 5.5 X 6.5 inches.

The inside card stock and papers were cut at 5 X 6 inches.

After I completed the video I realized I forgot to show you the A2 size envelopes that I added to my book.

I sealed the envelopes and cut off .50 an inch off of the top. Then I used a 1.5 inch hole punch to make a half circle to make it easier to get inside of the envelopes. I'll use one for coupon's and receipts and the other for photo ideas from magazines that I find.

I used the Storybook Cricut Cartridge and cut the S at 5.5 inches and all of the layers. I then used my

I-rock that I got at Jo-ann's and added some heatset pink bling to the S that I bought from Wal-Mart.

I used Colorbok paper for this project. For the back cover I doubled the chipboard to make it sturdy enough to use to write on. I'm thinking about adding some elastic to the front and back cover to slide a pen inside. One so that I always have a pen handy and two so that it will keep my book closed when I'm not using it. When I add that to the book, I'll put up an updated photo for you to see.

My daughter has the sweetest friend. Her name is Thuy and she does nails. After she worked all day, she came over and did my nails and both of my daughters nails. My littlest, thought it was the coolest thing she has ever seen. Of course, I've painted her nails before but I've never been talented enough to put little flowers on them. It was a real treat for all of us and when I was working on my project today, I realized my nails matched my book. Now, how cool is that? 

Sometimes when I start to wonder why God has put us here in Florida, he shows me how blessed I am by showing me the wonderful friends he has put in our life. Thank you God!

Build A Bear Dies from Stamp-in Up

Simply Sunday "Freedom isn't Free" at Getting Cricky

I found Kristal's blog about a month and half ago and have completely fallen in love with it. She is an amazing lady, full of inspiration and Godly wisdom to share. Check out her blog and I hope that you receive the same kind of encouragement that it always gives me.

This is my idea of a soldier (Prince Charming). I've been adopting soldiers for over 2 years now and have truly loved doing it. It feels good to be able to do something to brighten a soldiers day, even if it's just a little bit, especially after all they do for me. This card is going to one particular and very special soldier to me. He is my cousin and I love him very much. I hope he likes the card I made.

I cut the book 3 times. I scored the top part so that it would open the way that I wanted. Then adhered the two pieces together with my atg gun. Then I took the third one and cut the spine of the book out so that I could make it a different color.

I cut the sentiment to fit the inside of the card and then used a 3/4 inch hole punch to round the edge to look similar to the shape of the book and used the corner chomper to round the edges of the inside sentiment.

Sock Monkey

Hi Everyone. I was never a big fan of sock monkey's when I was growing up. To be honest, they kinda weirded me out. But when I saw them on the Sugar and Spice and B is for Boy Cricut Lite Cartridges I just thought they were adorable. Maybe I was going through a anti-sock monkey phase and I've finally out grown it. LOL
I love how the hat turned out and if you click on the picture it will enlarge. I ran the hat through the textile embossing folder and it gives it just enough texture to make the hat look like it has been knitted. I really like how this card turned out and hope that you do too.

My first attempts at Crocheted Flowers

I've crocheted since I was young. My aunt taught me how to do it when I was in grade school. I can't pick up a crochet hook that I don't think of Aunt Wanda. Every time I go to West Virginia she makes me homemade zucchini bread with nuts. She always brings it over to me nice and warm. One of the sweetest ladies I know and a true blessing to me.

Well, I've seen these crocheted flowers on Iam Roses and at other craft stores. I just couldn't see buying them, because I knew that I could figure it out and that it couldn't take long to make them. Well, I was right. I got the crochet thread that you use to make lace doilies and within a few minutes I had made my first one. The neat thing about my ability to crochet is that I'm legally blind. So when I crochet I feel along with my fingers. It's amazing what God will allow us to do when He knows it means so much to us.

Another example of this is my friend, Keith, who made my lazy Susan. He lost his right hand in an accident years ago. He does wood working and there isn't anything that man can't do. He is such an inspiration to me. Go back to the "Update on my Craft Desk" post and you'll see what he made for me.

Here are a few pictures of the flowers I made. The smaller ones are super simple.

I chained 6 and then closed the loop.

Then I crocheted, a single crochet, a half double crochet and then (3) double crochets another half double crochet and then one final single crochet. Repeat that until you have 5 petals. Hook it closed and then cut the thread. One perfect little crocheted flower.

Queen of my Craftroom - Fall Color Challenge

A2 size card.

This was a super fun card to make. I embossed the top cardstock with a "Darice Tree with leaves embossing folder". Then used some glue dots to add leaf  buttons and made a shrinky dink fence and pumpkins design to go at the bottom corner of my card. Then to add a little extra I made 2,4,6,8 boxes in matching colors. I did a video of how easy those are to make and I'm sure you'll want to make a bunch of them as well when you see how quick they are to put together. Simple Sunday Food for Thought Challenge

Here is my post for this challenge.

This is a great project for snacks for your kids lunch boxes or a great little party favor to match what ever the theme may be and it was super easy to do. The match box was done on the Cricut Cartridge - Tags, Bags, Boxes and more. The only thing with this box is that the top is on one button and the base is on the next button (pages 123 and 124 in the manual).  Cut at 3 inches for the top and the bottom. You can do two Hershey Nuggets in a box at size 2.5 inches.

I used white mailing labels (Avery # 15160) and printed them on my printer and they fit around the nugget perfectly. I know that Stamp-in Up has some new stamps that will fit the labels, if you don't feel comfortable doing them on your computer. They are really cute too.

I used the oval, the scalloped oval and a dimensional from stamp-in up to cut out my sentiment (Scrappy Mom Stamps - Kid's Incorporated) for the top of my box.

Update on My Craft Desk

I am so blessed. I wanted a lazy Susan for my desk, but not just any kind, I wanted mine homemade so that I could set it up the way that I wanted to. So my husband cut the circle for the top for me and then my dear friend got me the mechanical part and put another wooden base on it. So it spins like a dream. Then I asked my husband while he was at Wal-Mart to pick up this certain type of bucket to go on it and he bought me all that they had. It works great. Now I'm taking industrial strength Velcro and putting it on the bottom of each of the buckets. This way I can take them off if I need to but yet keep them secure enough, that little hands, can't walk off with them. There is enough room in the center to put my atg gun, my xyron sticker maker and my tape dispenser. All things that were taking up space on my table. I absolutely love it. So I just want my husband, Roice, and my friend, Keith, to know how much I appreciate what they did for me. My friend Keith is coming this week to make my craft space a little more handicapped accessible as well. I just feel like a queen. LOL

I feel so blessed to have people who love me enough to do such kind sweet things for me. My husband hardly ever complains that I've taken 1/2 of our family room for my ever expanding craft space. LOL Then to have a friend willing to come make things more accessible for me, seems like a gift from heaven.

A Few Simple Cards

Before I started my blog, I made some cards that I knew I wanted to post and I wanted to be prepared to have plenty of cards to share with my blogging friends. So I made the cards, thinking I'd remember what I used. DUH! I can't even remember what I did yesterday, let alone a card I made weeks ago. Not one of my brightest moves. So I thought I'd just a post a few cards for you all to see and if you have and questions, just leave me a comment and I'll try to figure out what I did or used.

Owl Belly Band Card

I designed the card base on my gypsy with a square for the base and circles on each side and welded it all together. I scored the card at 4.0 inches all the way around and folded the circles into the center. The total size was 8.32 X 8.06 inches. I've made a couple cards like this and I really love how they turn out. This card would work well as a gift card holder as well.

The owl was cut from the Sugar and Spice Cricut Lite Cartridge at 2.5 inches and all it's layers.

The belly band was cut at 1.5 X 11 inches and then trimed after I used my ATG gun to seal the band together. I used my bone folder and made sure that the creases were real tight on the band, so it didn't slip.  Then used a large glue dot to hold the owl on the front of it. I placed my sentiment above the owl to leave the inside plain so that there was plenty of room to write inside the card. I will list the supplies I used below.

Emma's Throwback Thurs. Challenge - Episode 209

Baby Shower Favor

The challenge was to use the Wild Card or Just Because Cricut Cartridge and to emboss somewhere on your project. I used the baby rattle from page 76. (It is the shift-icon button) I used the real dial size button at 5.12 inches and welded a 2 inch circle to the rattle using my gypsy. (When I do it again I will add a 2.5 inch circle so that it fits better.) I then cut a 2.5 inch scalloped circle to go on the back of the favor to hold the candy in. (again I'd make it a 3inch scalloped circle) I used the 1 3/4 in stampin up circle punch to make room for the treat cup to fit in. If you don't have that punch you could center a 1.75 inch circle real dial size in the center of the rattle, to make room for your treat cup. I then filled it with pink and blue jelly beans but you can add whatever your favorite candy is. The treat cup is only 1/2 inch thick, so the smaller the candy the better it will fit.

Before I put my scalloped circle on I stamped the back with My Creative Time - Turn that Frown Upside Down Stamp set (you have made my day) and then heat embossed it with rainbow embossing powder. There was a bow that was cut out from the cricut image but I used my scissors and cut it off and added my own white satin ribbon around it.

New Great-Niece Elaina layout/wall hanging

 This is my first project on the "Queen of my Craftroom design team". I think I'm really going to enjoy being on this design team. It is giving me the opportunity to stretch and move out of my comfort zone. We do swaps with all different kinds of projects and I'm not use to making cards for people I don't know. So this has forced me to think outside of the box about what others might like or want. I'm really enjoying it.

I am so happy to be a great aunt. Elaina is up in Ohio with her mom and dad and I'm clear down here in Florida. I wish I could be there to hold her, hug her and give her lots of lovin. But I get lots of pictures so that I don't miss out on too much of her growing up.

Mission to Mars - VBS Bulletin Board

This is the bulletin board I decorated for our Vacation Bible School. It was a lot of fun to make and now I can hardly wait to do my next one. I used Everyday Paper Dolls and Boys Will Be Boys Cricut Cartridges.

The space ship is 13 inches and the boy and girl astronaut are 7.8 inches.

I put black fabric on the board and then my husband found clear plastic wrap with white spots. I thought that would look like smaller stars in the background. I think that it worked out pretty well.

If God Can Work Through Me

This is a 5 X 5 card and was super easy to do. I plan to make some more with sympathy phrases to have when I need sympathy cards. They are something I truly struggle with and I believe this would be a easy design to follow. I used my stampin up punch and punched out 2 doily designs, then I cut them in half to place beside the ribbon. The sentiment was computer generated and cut using Creative Memories Cutters.

Happy 4th Card

July 4th is my birthday, so I decided to send my mom a thank you card. I have one of the best mom's in the whole world and I just wanted her to know that I appreciate her. This is the first time that I made a card like this and it was a lot of fun. I started with a square and then added circles on each side, they met in the middle to make half circles on each side of the square. So when I folded up the circles I was able to make a belly band to go around the card to keep it closed. It really gives it a neat look. It would be a great card to hand out for showers or birthday invitations, putting the information on the inside of the card and adding a larger design on the front to match the birthday theme or a monogram for something more formal. Tags for my Nieces Bridal Shower

So far I have made tags for my one nieces baby shower. That was one of the first things I made with my cricut. They were tied around party favors. Now I have another niece getting ready for her bridal shower and I was going to do tags similiar to a plain original tag. But I found out that they were doing a floral theme with real bright neon pink, yellow, orange and green colors. So I decided to do these tags with punches enstead. I printed Candace's Bridal Shower on the paper in bright pink ink and then I punched a scalloped circle out of pink to back each of the circle punches. I thought that they looked close to a flower. I will have one more set of tags done by the end of July to go on the favors for the actual wedding. These ones are going to be larger and I'll be using clear shipping labels to print all the information off of my computer. I'll show you them when I get them done.

These tags were made from the Wal-Mart @ the office Brights card stock.

Vacation Bible School - Mission to Mars

I can't believe that I haven't posted since Monday. That's a long time for me. I have been working crazy getting things ready for Vacation Bible School (VBS) at my church. Our theme this year is Mission to Mars. So thank goodness I live in Florida because I was able to get some things from Kennedy Space Center. I'll show you some of that as we get further into our VBS program. Most programs last a week long, but we do ours every Sunday evening all summer long. It's not what I'd like to do, but you have to do what you can when you only have a few workers. I have a few models helping me show you a couple of the rockets I cut out for our program. I think my models are cuter than my rockets are, but I could be a smidge biased, because I'm their mommy.

These are two of my decorations for our Mission to Mar's and they were super easy to do. All the paper for both projects were from the Paper Studio 12 X 24 inch textured card stock primary pack.

The first rocket and all it's layers were cut at 13.01 inches. The second rocket and all it's layers were cut at 20.60 inches using my gypsy for both of them. We then added some glitter glue to both of them, to snaz them up a little more. I think they'll look great on our bulletin boards.

Love You A Latte - Father's Day Card

I have been very blessed to have my god-son visiting with us these last few weeks and so while he was here, we made his dad his Father's Day Card. This is the first Father's Day Card he has ever gotten to make, because up until a few months ago - he never had a father. So he was very excited about this. He told me all the things his father likes, the colors that he likes, how coffee is his favorite thing and we ran with it from there.

Sorry I forgot to write down which cartridge I found this coffee cup on - not one of my brighter moves. If your interested in where it came from, I'll look it up on my gypsy again.

This is an A2 size card.

Graduation 2011

Congratulation's Danée and Jesse

I'm so proud of my 2011 Graduates. Yes, that was plural. My oldest daughter Danée and my youngest son Jesse both graduated and I think I was the proudest mom on the planet. We had their graduation party last Sunday after church. The whole place was covered in Suwannee Bulldog green and yellow. I did go a little over board on the food. There were so many leftovers that I don't think I'll want to eat potato salad ever again.  A good time was had by all though.

For some reason blogger won't allow me to add the 2011 part of the banner. I guess it thinks I've added to many pictures. LOL

The paw print is from Pooh and Friends Cricut Cartridge and is cut at 5 inches.  I got the yellow and green paper from staples and the white is Papertrey Ink card stock. I used my crop-a-dile to punch the holes and instead of hooking it together with ribbon I attached it with 1 inch book rings. I decided to make additional paws and add extra numbers. So I could give it to Jesse's teacher and she could use it year after year. I've laminated the paws and put eyelets in the holes, which I didn't have time to do before I used it. I'd never done a banner before, so I was pretty pleased with how it turned out. Now it is a reusable and can be used for years to come in Mrs. Vicker's class with many Suwannee Bulldog Graduations. Once you are done with it, you just take the rings out and slip it into a ziploc bag and it is sealed and ready for next year.

This was a real fun card and I love how the stamp Emma designed worked right along with the die cut from the Boys Will Be Boys Cricut Cartridge.

The original alien had 3 eyes, but I only wanted one because the stamp says,

"The twinkle in your eye makes me smile."

So I cut off the outer two eyes.

This is an A2 size card. This design is from page 51 in the handbook and was cut cut at 3 inches with all of it's layers. I am a major Eeyore fan, so doing this card was a blast for me. I am devoting this whole week to one set of Emma's stamps. I am hoping that you will see how versatile they are and how you can make a card for your husband, then go to space and come back and visit the zoo. LOL
