RAK from Annie (msgardengrove1 on youtube)

Before I put up the video of the very kind RAK I received from Annie, I wanted to take a moment and tell you all
Happy New Year.

I also wanted each and every one of you to know how much I appreciate your kindness. Many of you have followed me for a while now and there are those of you that I can always count on to leave me a sweet and encouraging comment. I especially want you to know how much that means to me that you take that time and look at what I've made, what Mariah made or Danée's graduation. I'm sure some of it probably wasn't your thing at all. But because you care about me you watched my video or looked at my photo and took the time to write me a note, I truly want to THANK YOU for that with all my heart! THANK YOU!
May God be with you and bless you this new year!

Danée Graduated Cum Laude From College

This is a very proud mom moment and I wanted to share it with you. My daughter graduated with honors from her college and will be going on to further her education to get her Masters Degree. I hope you enjoy the video and if you listen close you can hear how excited Mariah was. She yells, "Nee, you rule baby!" We were all very happy and excited for her. She will be home with me until the fall semester starts and then she will most likely be staying on campus. We haven't worked out all the details on that part yet.

So sorry to not have checked in with you all.

Hey Everyone. I am so sorry that I have not been posting on my blog. I have been in and out of the hospital 3 times since Thanksgiving. I am very blessed to here this holiday season. My blood pressure has been going real high and then real low. Well, one day it went so low that if my daughter hadn't noticed how bad I looked and rushed me to the hospital, I might not be here with you now. My blood pressure dropped down to 47/30. I couldn't even communicate, I was so weak and out of it.

Today was the first good day I've had in weeks and I probably over did it but I wanted to enjoy some time with my youngest little girl Mariah. I did the cutting of the fabric but everything else she did with the Beacon Fabri-Tac Glue. That stuff works great.
Be sure to let us know what you think.

Homemade Hot Cocoa Gifts

Every winter I make a huge batch of homemade hot cocoa mix. Danée will be graduating with her Associates degree before she moves on to a different university to complete her Bachelors. So she wanted to take a small gift to her professors to let them know that she enjoyed being in their class and this is what she wanted to give to them.

Clean Water Mission's Program

The boys and girls in our Children's Church are competing against each other to try and raise $300.00 for clean water. For each dollar the kids raise they get to put one little person on the wall. For every dollar they raise it will give clean water to one person for one year. Our church is small and we run on average between 15 and 20 kids a week so $300.00 is a pretty big goal but one we think that we can accomplish.
This is a perfect example of why an electronic die cutting machine and a manual die cutting machine are something that every crafter should have in their craft space. I could have used my cricut and my Every Day Paper Doll Cricut Cartridge but I need 300 of these little people. So I wouldn't even want to think about how many of my mats I would have had to went through to do that amount. Instead I used my Big Shot, some Sizzix dies and a bunch of my scraps.

A Bag of Turkey Poop - Just What Everyone Wants. . .NOT!

Another super fun and quick project. A very kind lady from church invited our family over to her house for Thanksgiving. She knows that I have been very sick with my blood pressure skyrocketing dangerously high and then plummeting dangerously low. So she didn't want me to have to worry about cooking a big meal. Which I thought was so sweet of her. So I wanted to make something I could give her to say "Thank You" and give her a little smile at the same time.
I hope that she likes it and I hope you like it too.

Snowman Candy Bar Covers

Hi everyone, I wanted to share these candy bar covers in time for you to get the things you need, encase you want to do them with your children's classes like I am going to do. I don't have a craft store near me, so I have to make plans to go to somewhere where I can get the fleece.

I Mustache You a Question Card

This was a super quick card and a lot of fun to make. I hope you like it and please let me know what you think about it.
Mariah and her mustache picture with her face still covered in pizza sauce. Don't worry though, you can hear her singing from the bath tub during my video. LOL So she is all cleaned up now.

Jesse liked Mariah's picture so much that he had to have one taken with the mustache too. There is no way I am showing you the picture of me with the mustache on though. LOL

I used my Peachy Keen Stamps for the face and My Creative Time stamps and dies for the sentiments on the inside of the card and the mustache. Let me know what you think about it.

Quick and Easy Goodie Bags

Hi all, I was getting ready to go to my doctors and realized this would be the last time that I would see them until after the holiday season. So I wanted to make a quick goodie bag to give my doctor and her nurse thanking them for the good care that they give me. The bags were so quick and easy and had time permitted, I could have really jazzed these bags up. Let me know what you think.

Sympathy Card

He everyone. This is a sympathy card I made for a friend of mine. I am not very good at sympathy cards and really struggle when I have to make them. I always tell myself that I'm going to try and make some so that I can have them in my card box for when a time like this happens. I won't have to try and make a card when I'm upset or worried about a friend. Well, that sounds so good in theory but I have yet to execute it. I don't handle death well and I don't like to even think about the people I love being in pain, so I just can't bring myself to work on sympathy cards. This is for a very good friend and I wanted her to know that I care, so I tried my best to make a nice card. Please let me know what you think.

Gift Card Holder

This is the gift card holder I made to hold one of the gift cards I'm giving my son for Christmas. It was super easy to do and I used the Cricut Close to my Heart Artiste Cartridge. I cut the card base at 4.9 inches on my gypsy. If you don't have a gypsy you can cut it at 5 inches and that would be fine. This one uses the entire length of an 11 inch piece of paper, so if you go up to 5 inches, I would say you would need to use a 12 inch piece. Let me know what you think.
I give you all the measurements on the video encase you are interested in making one like this.

Homemade Chalking Tool

Most of you have probably seen that some chalk sets come with a tool to use to help you chalk your images with. Well, mine didn't and I couldn't find one outside of the sets of chalks. I decided I could make my own and it was very easy. So I wanted to share this video with you.

Second I Feel the Love Project Card

Gobble Til' You Wobble

This turkey was cut with the Cricut Lite cartridge Celebrate with Flourishes. This card was made using nothing but scraps from my scrap bin. I love when I can do that. I hate to waste paper and my scrap pile is starting to get a little out of hand.

Usually when this happens I get in touch with a kid or two and bring them over to pick out some images they want to cut out from the cricut. We grab some pizza and soda's and we make a day of it. It looks like I'm going to have to start making plans for a fun filled card making day again.

The punches at the bottom of the card are from Stamp-in Up and the sentiment is computer generated. I used the Irock to attach the pretty blue gems on the top corner and "Viola" a card was made. This turkey is super easy to make and only has 3 cuts.

If you haven't checked out the I Feel the Love Project, I encourage you to do so. This month the cards are going to Surrey Place. A nursing home here in Live Oak Florida. My daughter and her friend Randa, are blessed and are going to be the ones to give out the cards this month to all the kind folks at Surrey Place when they go for Thanksgiving, to sing and spend time with the residents there.

First I Feel the Love Project Card

Gobble Til' You Wobble

This was a fun card to make. I cut the image at 4 inches because I wanted to use my Peachy Keen Critter Faces (Large). What I didn't take into account was that the imagine would not be just 4 inches tall. The tallest piece cut was 4 inches but after you put the legs and the hat on it made it 5.5 inches tall. So I decided a 6 X 6 inch card was the way to go. The patterned paper comes for an old DCWV Harvest Gathering matstack. The ribbon I used was from Papertrey Ink and matched almost perfect. I used a Stamp-in Up border punch, scalloped circle and circle punch for the computer generated sentiment. Then I added a little bit of bling and the card was done. I definitely didn't plan on my turkey being that big but I love Peachy Keen stamps so much that it made it worth it to make a bigger card.

The Last of Mariah's Royal Duties

Mariah and Daddy in the parade and her other dress for the homecoming. I think this one is even more pink than the other one, if that's even possible.

She loved every minute of it. Our friend Anna was kind enough to allow them to ride on the back of her convertible. My little princess had a great day and I'm sure she will remember it forever.

Marquette's Monster

My wonderful daughter-in-law is a teacher and she needed me to make the biggest monster I could make from the "Bump in the Night Cricut Cartridge". So my monster is 11.5 inches and I used all Colorbok card stock from Wal-Mart. She is going to play a game with her class called, Pin the Eye on the Monster. So I made 1 monster and 50 eyeballs. She has 45 kids but encase someone lost their eye, I figured she might need a few extra ones. Pin the Eye on the Monster sounds a little gross to me but I know she is a great teacher and I'm sure her class will think it is fun. My son did good (great), Marquette is a true blessing to our family. Can you tell I love her - A LOT!
