Praise The Lord

I just wanted to take a moment to praise the Lord and thank Him for his goodness and mercy. He is what sustains me and makes each day bearable. Sometimes I forget to give Him the credit for getting me through each day. 

I went to the nursing home yesterday and saw a lady from my church who has Alzheimer's, it was heart breaking. But the part that was amazing to me was that when I would sing hymns to her, it was like her life opened up again and almost as if she were in the presence of the Lord himself. She would get this huge smile and seemed so truly happy that it was like nothing I'd ever seen before. She wasn't looking at me but it seemed clear that she was looking at someone and there was no one else in the room. So I believe that her smile and excitement came from the Lord himself and that when she was in His presence, her life did open up again and for that short time she was standing with Him. Whole and happy and with the assurance that she has lived a good and faithful life and that one day when He calls her home, she knows that she is going to hear, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."
